You do not need a computer science background to teach Ellipsis Education Computer Science Curriculum.
Ellipsis Education courses are written by educators with a focus on providing content structured so that both technical and non-technical educators are able to teach computer science with confidence. However, we understand that training is critical for educators who are implementing new pedagogies and to build confidence with computer science content. Ellipsis Education training for teachers, including a train-the-trainer model includes ongoing access to training videos within the LMS, and has extensive infrastructure to support users beyond the initial training – throughout implementation across the academic year(s).
The Ellipsis Education Customer Experience Team is composed of experts who have extensive records of delivering Ellipsis Education training both in-person and virtually. Virtual and in-person trainees receive the same level of service and attention. Customer Experience Team members lead each training session. Each training session has an agenda specific to the product and platform training needed.
- Accessing Ellipsis Education curriculum and instructional materials: The process by which educators access the Ellipsis Education curriculum is similar across all courses. This provides a familiar experience should educators teach multiple courses or expand their offerings in the future. The Ellipsis Education Customer Experience team ensures all training attendees have access to and are able to navigate the content and use of the instructional materials within the course: Standards Map, Syllabus, Pacing Guide, Summative and Formative assessments, Step-by-Step lesson plans.
- Navigating the software/applications used in the curriculum: The training provides educators hands-on experience in the coding platform they will use when teaching students. In this process, the Ellipsis Education Customer Experience Team guides participants through the first step-by-step lesson and demonstrates the differences between the educator and student experiences with the curriculum.
